About Dreamworld

"Dreamworld" is a vocal past Australian stone band Midnight Oil released in 1988 as the fourth and last single from their sixth studio album, Diesel and Dust. In the Usa, the song reached No. 16 on the Mod Rock nautical chart and No. 37 on the Mainstream Stone chart. The song laments the loss of much of Queensland'south built heritage — including the Cloudland Dance Hall, where Midnight Oil had oftentimes performed — which was demolished under the then-ruling Joh Bjelke-Petersen country regime. Prior to the song being released, the band performed a version with some culling lyrics at the Live @ RMIT, Melbourne, Australia - March 7, 1987 concert. The Dreamworld theme park, which inspired the song'due south name, is briefly shown in the music video. more »

The Breakfast Creek hotel is upwardly for sale, The terminal square mile of terra firma gavelled in the post, So good day to the Norfolk Island pines, No corporeality of make believe can help this centre of mine. End, your dreamworld is just nigh to end. Fall, your dreamworld is only about to fall, Your dreamworld will fall. And then shut that buckle and turn that key again, Take me to a identify they say the dreaming never ends, Open wide drive that mystery route, Walk through eden´s garden and so wonder as y'all go. Sign says honeymoon to rent Cloud-land into dreamland turns, The sunday comes up and we all learn Those wheels must plough.

Midnight Oil

Midnight Oil (also known informally as "The Oils" to fans), were an Australian alternative rock band from Sydney originally performing as Subcontract from 1972 with drummer Rob Hirst, bass guitarist Andrew James and keyboard histrion/pb guitarist Jim Moginie. While vocalist Peter Garrett was studying at Australian National University in Canberra, he answered an advertisement for a spot in Farm, and by 1975 the band was touring the east coast. By tardily 1976, Garrett moved to Sydney to complete his law caste, and Farm inverse its name to Midnight Oil by drawing the proper name out of a hat. more »
